'Exude' album release

After many postponements, it is in the fall of 2021 that pianist Francesca Han was finally able to invite trumpeter Ralph Alessi to bring to life an original repertoire during a beautiful session at La Buissonne studios, South of France.

Precise and refined gestures on delicate matter, a shared trust and a very free dialogue : the duo exudes a sensitivity that serves an original music for all sorts of journeys.

‘Exude’ will be released on October 6th 2022, and will be available in Digital and CD on Bandcamp

There will be three concerts to celebrate this in meaningful venues : l’AJMI (Avignon, 6th October), Le Périscope-Musiques Innovantes (Lyon, 7th October) and Les Caves de l’Abbaye (Beaune, 8th October).

An artwork from Lucio Fontana was chosen to purposedly illustrate the refinement of the music gathered in ‘Exude’, as ‘Fontana believed that matter should be transformed into energy in order to invade space in a dynamic form’.

Hoping you will enjoy the listening journey!

Francesca Han ‘Japan’ Trio

On March 21st 2017, Francesca recorded with the very talented Takashi Sugawa (bass) and Shun Ishiwaka (drums) some of the material that she had been playing with them for most of her stay in Japan (2015-2019). The trio recorded these compositions at the all analog Studio Dede in Ikebukuro-Tokyo. A full album has not materialized yet.
But here you can listen to 2 pieces recorded that day.
‘Petit Soleil’ is a lullaby dedicated to her then soon to come first son.
‘Chrysanthemum’ is a tribute to the late Masabumi Kikuchi.
